head injury

I was talking to a friend yesterday who I hadn't seen in a
few months. Turns out, he just got out of the hospital
after falling off his skateboard. He landed on his head and
he ended up in the hospital for 8 weeks. For two weeks,
he forgot how to speak. He spent over a month relearning
how to walk. His skull is still fractured and it's going to be
several more months before he is healed and can even
think about skateboarding again.
Bottom line: If you wear a helmet, you're a pussy. This guy
healed up just fine.

but he can't smell anymore, he's lost many of his childhood memories, he'll become confused randomly and not understand what's happening, he'll develop harsh effects years later in his neck and probably suffer from migraine headaches the rest of his life.
He'll never be as physically active and able and agile and he was, and probably won't ever be as clever as he could've been either.
In other words if you want to go from being a ninja, or james bond or jackie chan to homer simpson or a donut that he likes to eat, then don't wear a helmet. They're for pussies.
I was with a guy a couple days ago, skating down fraser st. his helmet wasn't done up. I said, buckle it up we're goin downhill...he buckles it, 3 blocks later SMASHES his forehead on the cement and breaks his collarbone etc etc. fine aside from the collarbone.
