They're both good trucks. They're different and you'll only ever understand that in full by riding one and then riding the other.

Either way, you buy a good truck. Either way, you'll get used to the truck you ride.

I own both types of trucks and I find that smokies are better on flat decks and jimzs are better for angled decks. but thats just me. Pretty much if i graphed the pros and cons out they'd be different on certain points but they both come out with the same amount of points over all. I ride both trucks with confidence and recommend them both. Not that that helps you decide or anything.

smokeys still need lots and lots of work. I like them
but the whole two spherical bearings system is
stupid. I wrecked a pair of smokeys in 3 and a half
months riding only technical bike paths going
under 30 km/h. I also weigh 110 lbs. I know I knly
rode paths because it was winter and thats all we
had. as soon as we could bomb roads and
mountains the axles were bent and ovalized. The
whole for the kingpin in both the baseplates were
ovalized so the kingpin moves all over the place.
the spherical bearings are warped to shit.
The kingpin actually hits the hanger (where the
bearing sits)when you turn hard enough
I wouldn't recomend them but do what you want
man.
Right now Im riding tracker fastracks and they are
100% better.
