PROTECTING YOUR BOARD

anyone have some tips to protect the nose and tail of your longboard? i heard that if i stabled some cut up bicycle tire on my nose it would protect it well? any suggestions?

I just cover the ends in a couple layers of duck tape. Seems to be doing the job. Definitely not as secure as buying a nose guard but its alot cheaper.
