you said it hugh, a fuckin beer company with deeeep pockets sponsors top challenge then charges $4 for a fuckin BUD LITE! when i was there in '05 they were charging less for jager shots! while top challenge does do a good job in promoting the event for spectators, i feel they don't treat the racers that well.

and the course at paskapoo is just soooooo much fun! speedbumps, cracks and all. i would hate to see it go away.

The Paskapoo Downhill Rodeo will happen again this year. Our date is already firm with the venue for the August 16th-17th weekend(not sure what day yet)

Thank you everyone for your support, after last years race we have struggled very much to get to the point we can say with confidance there will be a 2008 event. People here in Calgary and the whole SLAC crew is working extremly hard to raise funds to pay off debts from last year. Everything from prize money to the deposit for the 2008 event has come out of the organizers pockets, and we are not rich people, some of us have children, and none of us have amazing jobs, but we love the sport and we have had AMAZING SUPPORT FROM THE RIDERS.

I would also like to say that I have personaly spoken with the organizers of top challenge and it will not be double booking our event, so you guys dont have to worry about it anyway.

john, i assure you, especially with all your public bitching you will get paid. the first 4 years of the sully i was fortunate to just barely have enough OF MY OWN $$$ to pay the winnings and afterevent costs (and this was with me taking podium and not paying myself, plus good old tom came through time nd time again refusing to take prise $$$)... my event is a lot smaller than paskapoo, hence, when shit hit the fan, i could handle the reprocussions.... BARELY!!!! i never ate the few months aftersully!!!!

if a few of you street luge honchos would help these boys out you may have had a part of paskapoo future... say, offer to give the prise $$$ back as say for example "rogers bros luge" sponsors paskapoo 2008!!!! but this never crossed your mind, you will get paid, and i bet luging in calgary will be lost once again...... ah well. when DH skateboarding in canada was at its prime first 13 racers, this is what happened. and this is why we had 28 the next year, 44, 83, 137, 164, ???????...

anyhow, im stoked the SLAC crew is going to give it another shot!!! cause it is the best venue / course weve seen to date! too bad the lugers lost it.... thanx to the 111 supporting DH racers in attendance last year, we will battle that hill again!!!!!!!!! yeeeeehaw canadian racing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SLAC wrote him a bad (personal) check for promised prize money.

Rogers Bros has been considering some sponsorship to certain races this year. Sully and DB are on the list....Paskapoo is not.

and as fas as bounced cheques go, i've had cheques bouce before too, sux... but i didnt publically announce this... i gave them time, harassed them, and they finally bucked it all up. sux and shouldnt happen.. but it does.. and will continue to happen in the future... what we can all learn from this (their mistakes) is not to bite off more than chewable... and its pretty easy to do.

anyhow, mostly i just wanna say KUDOS to the calgary crew, for sticking it out 2 times and hoping to have a 3rd round!!!

This issue is being resolved. Please to not trash talk either of the rogers brothers. A public forum is no place for this talk.

Just so evryone knows, paskapoo 2007 ran 21,678 dollars in the red. WE GAVE OUT $22,000 in prize money. ONLY 1500 of the prize money has yet to be paid. That meands that all of the prize money paid, came out of the pockets of the organizers.

Respect the racers (especialy John), respect the organizers of all the races, encourage the sport, be a part of the community, deal with issues or F*!k off
